Kids Art Contest

We know how tough it is to be a parent. You want to teach them all the wisdom you have as an adult, however, you understand they need to experience life to learn lessons as well. Experiential education, learning by doing, is at the heart of what we area all about at Epona Healing with Horses! But, what happens when you and your kids leave the farm? How do you continue to instill self confidence, emotional awareness and self leadership in the minds and hearts of your kiddos?

We are creating a fun experience as well as a tool for you and your kids to use at home, an affirmation card deck. However, our affirmation card deck has a little twist. Instead of the typical affirmations like “ I am calm”, or “I am confident”, that are in the form of a statement, we flipped ours into questions. By asking questions like “ How can I help myself feel calm” encourages the little google search part of our brain to look for the answer and proves to the subconscious that it is true and safe. This builds self confidence, emotional awareness and self leadership skills.

Here’s where we need your help. We want this card deck to feel fun, not like homework (yuk!), so we are inviting kids to be the artists on the the cards! On one side of each card will be an inquisitive affirmation question and on the back of each card will be artwork by one of the kids in our community.

Guidelines:

1) School age kids, Kindergarten through 12th grade can participate

2) Artwork must contain one of the following:

  • One or more of our horses, Dusty, Tee and Iris

  • Our red barn at Hamilton Farm

  • Trees, plants, garden, or flowers you’ve seen at the farm

  • A symbol that embodies how you feel when you are with the horses (heart, smiley face, peace sign, etc)

3) Submit your child’s artwork by taking a picture with your phone and email to eponahwh@gmail.com or via text to 317.441.7769

4) If your child’s artwork is selected you will be notified by June 10th via phone or email. We will arrange to pick up the original artwork in person or you can drop it by the farm.

5) If your child’s artwork is not selected for this project, NO WORRIES! We have another project we are planning for the fall that will incorporate all our kiddo’s art!

** All proceeds, from selling this card deck, minus the costs to create the card deck, will go directly to our family & kid programs to give free and discounted services. We partner with Champions for Youth in Decatur County to invite kids and families in need of support to our programs.

The Spirit Horse Retreat

You’re being called to remember who you really are — not through words or willpower, but through the ancient language of the body and the mirroring wisdom of the horse.

In this one-day experiential retreat, you’ll begin with guided meditation and somatic visualization to drop out of the mental noise and reconnect to your deeper knowing.

Then, in sacred partnership with our intuitive herd, you’ll move into horse-led practices that reveal your true energy, highlight where you’re holding back, and reflect the next step your soul is ready to take.
